The book Beaivi, Áhčážan translated into English without the historical pictures in the original book.
Nils-Aslak Valkeapää was awarded with the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize in 1991 for the original book. Previously it has been translated into Scandinavian Solen, min far and into Finnish Aurinko, isäni. Beaivi, Áhčážan has been translated into English from the original sami text by Harald Gaski, Lars Nordström and Ralph Salisbury.

First edition 1997, 2003 DAT / ISBN 9788290625325 (8290625324). The new 2025 edition maintains the original unabridged, with the author’s original design and layout preserved. Minor textual changes are limited to the “Translators’ Preface” and a handful of poems.”

Nils-Aslak Valkeapää fikk Nordisk råds litteraturpris 1991 for boken Beaivi, Áhčážan som er oversatt til engelsk. Tidligere er den oversatt til skandinavisk Solen, min far og til finsk Aurinko, isäni. Layouten på den engelske oversettelsen er likedan som de andre oversettelsene, uten bilder. Oversatt fra den samiske teksten av Harald Gaski, Lars Nordström og Ralph Salisbury.
